Northwest Nurse Practitioner Associates (NNPA) is a Certified YELLOW FEVER center and also holds a certificate in travel health through the International Society of Travel Medicine. This certificate recognizes individual excellence in knowledge of travel medicine.
NNPA offers all travel vaccines including routine immunizations. We do not just "give shots", we need to review your medical history and travel destination when advising on and administering the needed vaccines. Some vaccines can be contraindicated depending on your medical history. *Please do not get vaccines from another provider just before seeing us as it may affect your immunization schedule*.
The vaccines we provide are:
- Yellow Fever
- Typhoid (oral and injectable)
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Rabies
- Hepatitis A and B
- Flu Shots for the Influenza 2011/12 Season are now available!
- Pneumonia
- Tetanus, diphtheria (Td) or Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap)
- Meningitis (there are three types available, choice depends on age and medical history)
- Polio
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Gardasil/HPV
- Zostavax
Depending on your destination you may also need a prescription for MALARIA prophylaxis, ALTITUDE ILLNESS and TRAVELER'S DIARRHEA, again this is individualized; there are varying medications and needs.
It is best to allow 4- 6 weeks ahead of your travel date for optimal protection against many of these diseases. Please bring in your itinerary for your trip and any immunization records you may have available as this may save you from repeating a vaccine that you may not need.
Please contact us for pricing on this visit and vaccines. Payment is expected in full on the day of service. We will give you an itemized bill to submit if you have insurance, but be aware that many insurance companies do not reimburse travel vaccinations. We do offer contracts for group rates.
